Spravato® (Esketamine) Treatment at Well-Being Mental Health
Our office is pleased to now offer Spravato®, an FDA-approved formulation of ketamine designed to rapidly relieve symptoms of treatment-resistant depression (TRD) and major depressive disorder (MDD) with suicidal ideation.
Spravato provides many of the same therapeutic benefits associated with ketamine while being covered by most insurance plans. Treatments are administered on site in our clinic under our supervision as a qualified provider. Each session lasts approximately two hours, during which we provide a safe, comfortable, and supportive environment for you to experience the rapid-acting antidepressant effects of this innovative therapy.
Spravato is approved for adults who have not responded adequately to other antidepressant treatments. Many patients experience significant and lasting improvements in mood, energy, and overall well-being, with the potential to reduce or even discontinue certain psychiatric medications over time under clinical supervision.
To ensure the best possible outcomes, patients must be actively engaged in psychotherapy throughout treatment—similar to the approach used with regular ketamine therapy. Since Spravato can cause temporary sedation or dissociation for patients, a ride home is required after each session.
We are excited to offer this transformative treatment as part of our integrative approach to mental health care, helping patients achieve meaningful, lasting change.

About Ketamine
What is Ketamine Therapy used for?
Ketamine Treatment is utilized for patients with the following conditions:
- Depression
- Anxiety
- Trauma
- Alcohol/Drug Addiction (you must be sober and committed to long-term sobriety)
Understanding Ketamine Treatment
Ketamine treatment marks a paradigm shift in the way we treat psychiatric concerns, as we now are able to move from treating symptoms to addressing the root cause of many mental health problems. This medication can change lives in a short period of time with the right treatment team and your commitment to moving forward in your life.
The Science Behind Ketamine
From a psychopharmacological perspective, we can hypothesize about the possible mechanisms of action, and it is thought that ketamine’s primary benefits come from action at NMDA receptors where the neurotransmitter glutamate binds. But to say that ketamine is a “glutamate drug” is a massive oversimplification as ketamine acts on a number of different receptors and pathways with a variety of effects throughout the brain.
Ketamine’s Transformative Effects
Ketamine allows us to access non-ordinary states of consciousness at different levels depending on dosage. The ability to access our subconscious provides opportunities for insight and intuitive knowing about the truth of who we are, which can lead to a greater sense of connection and meaning in our lives, which in turn can help alleviate anxiety and depression.
Safety and Side Effects of Ketamine
Ketamine has been proven to be one of the safest medications, and side effects are typically limited to the time during the actual treatment session. Side effects such as sedation, feeling disconnected from one’s body, and loss of sense of time are what we can expect to some degree.
Ketamine Assisted Psychotherapy
Ketamine Assisted Psychotherapy is a critical part of ketamine treatment and allows us to integrate our experience during actual treatment sessions into our lives and is what creates long-lasting changes for us. We do not offer ketamine treatment without a commitment to ketamine-assisted psychotherapy.
Treatment Process and Consultation
All intramuscular treatments will be administered at my clinic, and your psychotherapist is encouraged to attend those treatment sessions if possible. I look forward to meeting with you to discuss your goals in treatment and design a treatment plan that is right for you.
