Anthony Whall,
PA-C, CAQ-PSYCH

As a psychiatric provider, I am committed to delivering comprehensive, quality care, blending traditional and innovative approaches like ketamine treatment. My holistic treatment philosophy involves collaboration with medical and therapeutic professionals, and I am deeply invested in supporting addiction recovery, emphasizing the vital role of trust and personal connection in achieving wellness.

My Philosophy

Unlike many psychiatric providers, I have strong beliefs in regard to the use of medication for mental well-being.

My philosophy is simple.

  1. Don’t be on medication if you don’t need it.
  2. If medication can help, let’s find the lowest effective dose of that medication.
  3. If we have a choice of medications, try the one with the least amount of side effects first.
  4. Minimize the use of multiple medications whenever possible.
“I truly believe that we can all learn new patterns of thought, and thought is what drives our behavior. By becoming more closely-aligned with who we truly are, our higher selves, we can live a life of emotional integrity and self-compassion, moving from suffering and isolation to joy and gratitude.”

My Approach

Understanding that life’s challenges can sometimes hinder our mental well-being, I am here to guide you towards a happier, more fulfilling life.

What Sets Me Apart

Building Your Team

I am committed to providing the highest quality psychiatric care to every one of my patients. I value these relationships and consider this connection a source of significant meaning and purpose in my life. I enjoy working with patients’ medical providers, family members, and therapists to create a team-based approach to patient care.

Ketamine Treatment

Having completed training with the Ketamine Training Center, I am passionate about the use of ketamine and other psychedelic medicines to treat a variety of mental health conditions in a way that traditional psychiatric medications cannot accomplish.

Addition Recovery

As a member of the recovery community, I have had the opportunity to work with veterans coping with substance abuse and alcoholism within the VA system, and I continue to help people find their way out of addiction and achieve long-lasting sobriety. The trust and connection that is created in relationships with my patients is what I value most, which translates into the best possible outcomes psychiatric care can provide.

The Foundation of Care

Trust

Trusting your psychiatric provider is critical to your care; without trust, it is often difficult to remain hopeful, and knowing that you have a knowledgeable and empathic provider who truly wants you to feel better can make all the difference.

Communication

Open, honest and continued communication leads not only to more effective treatment but to a more trusting and reliable relationship between you and your provider; educating patients on medications, different diagnoses and staying in close contact with patients are all important and lead to consistent, more-effective care.

Tenacity

Finally, tenacity. This is the drive to find a solution when typical treatments have not gotten us to where we hoped to be.

Rates and Important Information

I currently do not accept insurance but I can provider superbills for submission to your insurance company for reimbursement purposes.

Rates

1 hour initial evaluation: $350

30 minute follow-up appointments: $175

Note on Benzodiazepines:

I do not prescribe benzodiazepines (medications such as Xanax, Ativan, Klonipin, Valium etc.) unless patients are interested in discontinuation of their benzodiazepines and would like assistance with a taper program to reduce and then eliminate use of these medications. Benzodiazepines are intended only for short-term, intermittent use, can cause dependence and withdrawal when discontinued, and have been associated with cognitive decline with long-term use. Additionally, use of these medications can be a way to avoid uncomfortable feelings, feelings that are important to acknowledge and work through with the help of a trained psychotherapist.

common questions

You will receive an email with forms to complete prior to your initial visit. These include a thorough history form as well as policy forms. During your first appointment, we will review the forms, discuss your current concerns, and come up with a treatment plan.

Your initial appointment will last approximately 60 minutes, and follow-up appointments are 30 minutes.

The frequency of appointments depends on the treatment plan that is developed during our initial evaluation. Typically I see patients for a follow-up appointment 2 to 4 weeks after their initial evaluation. This depends on the nature of the concerns being addressed, the medications prescribed, and other factors that may require more frequent visits. Once we have established a beneficial treatment plan and your symptoms have improved, it is possible that follow-up appointments could be scheduled for every 2 or 3 months.

Currently I do not accept insurance, but I can provide a super bill for submission to your insurance for reimbursement purposes.
The cost for the initial evaluation is $350 and the cost for follow-up appointments is $175.
